Bio

Timothy Paul Jones is a professor of apologetics and the C. Edwin Gheens Chair of Christian Family Ministry at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He also serves as one of the pastors at Sojourn Church Midtown in Louisville and as a fellow of the Keller Center for Cultural Apologetics. Dr. Jones has authored or co-authored more than twenty books in the fields of apologetics and family ministry, including Why Should I Trust the Bible? and Understanding Christian Apologetics. His book How We Got the Bible earned a Gold Medallion Christian Book Award in the Bible Reference category, and Christian Retailing Magazine awarded a Book of the Year Award for Christian History Made Easy. His book with Jamaal E. Williams, In Church as It Is in Heaven, received an Award of Merit from Christianity Today magazine in 2023.

Dr. Jones earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in biblical studies at Manhattan Christian College. He also holds a Master of Divinity degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, a Doctor of Philosophy in education from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Philosophy in church history from Stellenbosch University. He has lectured on the reliability of the New Testament Gospels at forums sponsored by InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He has been interviewed on numerous radio and television programs, including WGN Morning News, Fox & Friends, Crosstalk America, and Bible Answer Man, in addition to co-hosting a popular apologetics resource, The Apologetics Podcast.

Timothy Paul Jones is married to Rayann, and they have four daughters.
